If you find that your car shakes going down the road, you may need a wheel balance.

When a wheel rotates, if the weight around a wheel isn’t matched up it may cause a hop, shake or wobble,  as the wheel vibrates. It can also result in a wobbling of the steering wheel or of the entire vehicle. The unbalanced wheel is usually worse at a certain speed where the harmonics are just right. For example a wheel may shake at 80KPH – 90KPH but is smooth at every other speed.

When Granden Auto mounts tires to wheels we balance the wheels and correction weights are applied to counteract the combined effect of the tire and wheel unbalance. As tires get old and worn, they will slowly go out of balance and you will want to come back in for another wheel balance.
The attached picture shows the WRONG way to do a wheel balance… you should only have to balance one side of a tire; putting weights all the way around is defeating the purpose of a balance. Needless to say we re-balanced these tires.
